Touya tilts his head, as if listening for some answer from a third party to tell him exactly whether it's a good morning or not. But of course, there's no ghostly voice to reach his ear, not here.
Not in this world.
He hunches the shoulder closest to Niko, just a little, and then speaks again, his tone dark.
His tone is quite dark, as if this were the most miserable thing in the world. The teen childishly stomps a puddle, splattering water toward both their legs.
Ah, it looks like the young host of the Mizusato... travellers' inn, for the lack of a better description. Given he's been staying there for the time being, Faust decides he may as well be friendly, especially since the young man in question seems almost clinically depressed at this point. Not that it's his field of study or anything.
So he approaches casually, leaving the stands he was looking over behind himself, and offers a small smile. "Having a bad day?"
Touya's tone is quite sarcastic, and he rolls the shoulder nearest the other man in what is not quite a shrug. This strange-looking fellow lives at the ryokan, so Touya knows that he should be polite. But. Well. He just doesn't have it in him, today.
"Your sullen posture, for one." Faust chooses not to pay any attention to said sarcasm. Instead he seems to inspect the man quite intently. There seems to be some sort of an air of magic about him, even if it's not surprising in this place anymore. But that's not what draws his attention the most; the guy really seems shaken by something. It may as well be something more than a seasonal depression. "I'm afraid the psyche isn't my study field, though."

He should be polite. He's aware. In fact, his posture shifts a little uncomfortably at his own behavior. And because he has to, he knows he has to...
"I'm not really the best company today."
