[He needs to stop touching the Hitomi. Because it's horrifying enough to see, but the sensations of flesh being away, it causes him to curl a bit in his bed, to push at his own body as if to keep it together.
Sickening, the things these people dream.
And yet, somehow, this time the theme of being recreated starts to get through to him, and he stares at the puppet that is being created, the image trying to turn into a similar version of himself.
This was what Hattori had tried to make everyone.
Except that this man is doing it to himself.
Gau shudders, cringes, and pushes his hips into the bed.
...and realizes that the real horror of these dreams is that no matter what it is he sees, or how he feels about it, they are always going to arouse him, if the dreamer is aroused.
Fingers, everywhere. Hands.
He wants them on him, real or fake, wants touch so badly it burns, watching.]
We're all a bunch of sick freaks around here, aren't we, Sasori-san.
['We'? How interesting. The effect of the dream is still strong on him, and it's audible in his voice, a bit lower, a bit rougher than usual.]
I'd prefer to say I'm eccentric. Artists should be allowed their little quirks, you know.
I could say this dream is merely an erotic expression of my artistic passions, and my desire to reshape myself as art. If you too can find appreciation in that, then it merely means you're cultured.
The creative process can be a sublime thing. To be moved by it so profoundly isn't at all shameful.
[Gau shudders a little at that voice. And it's odd, to react in such a way to a stranger's voice.
Sex doesn't require emotion.
It's a lesson he's still learning.]
I've never really thought much about art one way or the other, but remaking yourself, I think I can understand that. It's like, training, only... more.
[He frowns, and his voice goes a little thoughtful.]
[Sasori does sound rather approving that Gau seems to grasp it to some degree.]
Yes, it's exactly so. When one has aspects of themselves that they are dissatisfied with, one should seek to reshape themselves, should put their efforts into casting off those parts of themselves that are undesirable. Training is just another tool to use for this purpose. Any shinobi...or samurai, should be able to understand this truth. I'm sure you probably have the desire to improve your skills. It really isn't different than that.
[There's a pause, and he chuckles at that.]
I can't say I've ever used them on myself, no. Normally, it's a jutsu that I have direct control over.
[A seductive note enters his tone.]
Although, if I were to find someone who was willing to surrender themselves to the experience, I'd try using it on them. Of course, I'd be sure to be quite gentle, unlike this dream; I'm the finest puppeteer my village has ever produced, after all, so I can be delicate when it suits me.

Do you really... let those things... touch you?
