[These dreams were going to kill him. This one in particular he didn't understand, but that didn't mean he didn't get the emotion behind it. Katsuya realized quickly he would have to revise his caretaker role if he were to survive in this place.]
[Since Kadaj didn't cut the feed, it keeps going as a response to Kaysuya's comment. He hears the beep that signals an incoming message and briefly looks confused, then takes the Hitomi off the desk and reads it.
It's a response to his dream.
And suddenly, he remembers. He remembers one of the posts someone had put up yesterday, addressing this very issue. Not only would he experience everyone else's dreams- everyone else would experience his own. His widened eyes narrowed to a glare, and his facial expressions slowly molded into a snarl.
Someone would die today, and that was not an exaggeration.
[Joker can't help it, he's already giggling a little bit before he starts]
Y-y
[Oh man, he's practically tittering]
Yo mama so stupid she didn't even know what end the baby was supposed to come out of!
[OH MAN A MAMA JOKE THAT IS TOPICAL AND APPROPRIATE. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. THE BEST. THE BEST FOR AT LEAST TEN MORE MINTUES. THERE IS NOTHING BUT HILARIOUS, CAPSLOCKED LAUGHTER TO FOLLOW.]
[It may not exactly be the blown out of proportion fit Joker may have been hoping for, but it was close. Kadaj rarely resorted to such obvious demands.]
Aw, that's it? I was expecting some sort of... I dunno... promenade. I suppose with a mother that dumb you'd expect the offspring not to fall too far from the tree...
[Usually, Kadaj wouldn't be so fired up, but he's in an unfamiliar place, alone (and he's never been alone before-- not for extended periods of time), and those dreams were simply the straw that broke the camel's back- not to mention his own dream, which revealed some of his own insecurities. Insecurities he'd withheld from even his brothers.
So these jokes are really pushing him past the limit. He snarls angrily at Joker.]
[ This dream - it catches at something in Lelouch, something he thought he'd left behind long ago. A remnant(echoes with youarejustaremnant) of memory from his youth, at the Imperial Court, when he and Nunnally were still young and happy and whole -
( it was not his mother's favor that mattered, that was the thing, but his father's; it was strange because at this point in his life, his father was less of a person to him and more of an abstract concept. If Father Favored You, you were that much closer to Land, Titles, and Glory; if he did not, you were Shit Out of Luck.
but he still remembers the side glances, the mutters, the twists and turns and caprices. And he had hated it all. )
[Kadaj hesitated at this response. He automatically assumed he was talking about Mother, since she was his parent (in his mind, anyway). But she really hadn't said much at all in the dream, so that meant he had to be talking about--
Kadaj snorted in half amusement, half disgust, as he replied.]

I'll kill you!

Maybe it shouldn't matter to you so much, what other people think.

[That was pretty much growled out at Akira. Pissed off pretty much accurately describes the remnant right now.]

But if you're not good enough for someone as you are... truth is you'll probably never be good enough.

[This boy is pissed, Akira. It'd be wise to back off before he has another person he wants to destroy because of his ungodly temper.]

Lelouch responds with text. ]
No parent has the right to say such a thing.

So I see - forgive me for my assumption, then.
