[Week 33, Day 4 | accidental video]

Dec 16, 2011 23:25

[The video feed starts with a jumble of sound and color as the Hitomi spills from Elfangor's pocket, outer clothing shoved off in a rush even as blue fur begins to sprout, stalk eyes popping into existence, mouth fusing shut. He couldn't care less about any of that right now, when all he wants is his tail blade, and for very good reason--actually, ( Read more... )

Are you all right?

[Matt's voice is tight with worry, the kind of worry that might turn into chewing Elfangor out once Matt's sure he is, in fact, all right, and this is only audio because that's the first button he hit.]

[See? He's perfectly all right, all in one piece. Morphing is so very useful for healing injuries, after all.]

Don't worry, I am fine. Annoyed, but no worse for it.

[He sighs, raking a hand through his hair. Stupid wolves.]

[Okay, then, cue protective anger.]

What the fuck are you doing wandering around in places where wolves can attack you?

...do you need me to come get you? [Much more quietly, and he ducks his head to light a cigarette.]

[Oh, but if that doesn't make him bristle. It's taken him long enough to take to traveling the woods alone again, after those two... exceedingly unfortunate events. If it weren't for that, perhaps his pride wouldn't be so injured at that accusative question.]

I handled the situation.

[...But he knows better, knows that Matt is just being protective, and he can't really argue with him, not when he knows where that anger comes from. He glances away from the Hitomi, bites his lip.]

No, I will return home shortly.

[He doesn't realize the Hitomi's recording at all - he's just staring, a slightly mystified look on his face at what he'd seen.]

...Does this place really do that to people?

Do what, exactly?

[Have a raised eyebrow. He has absolutely no idea what it is that you might be referring to.]

Take away your mouth and turn you into the blue thing.

[Yup, completely serious, this one.]

Uh. It is not this place that does that.

That 'blue thing' to which you refer is my body. My other form. I am not solely human. And I have the ability to change between my forms, of my own volition.

[But thanks so much for that description. 'Blue thing,' really? He's not impressed.]

[ How strange! ]

I have encountered many strange things, but you surprise me the most.

What is the name of your kind?

My people are called Andalites. But humans are my people, as well. I am both human and Andalite.

[ Aurican understands the identifying with another species. He will never see himself as a lesser mortal, but he finds the elves to be just as worth dying for as his own dragon kin. ]

I see. No elf am I, but I find them to be my adopted people as well.

Did you have to kill them?

[Four is torn between the shock of witnessing some more death and his sheer fascination with the fact that Elfangor just turned into a big blue alien. He knows about it sure, but to see it happen like that?]

I have learned from experience that if you do not put down your enemies when you have the chance, they will only come back for you later, all the more driven and dangerous.

But they wouldn't have hurt you if you hasn't been there?

[Four is unable to understand why anyone would want to kill anything, even if he has read about such feelings in many of the books he's read. A thought occurs to him and he considers it carefully. Does he want to know?]

What does it feel like to kill something living?
