Week 33, Day 2 [audio]

Dec 14, 2011 14:03

I've been looking at this...network, if you can call it that. And I've heard some pretty weird things, obviously; we all have.

Here's my question for you, Kannagara residents.

How many of you have actually ever seen one of these so-called gods? Interacted with it?

What convinced anyone that gods are in charge, anyway?

Chalk it up to curiosity.

[ Raises his hand. Just to be cute. ]

I've met one.

Yeah?

Care to share any details on that?

[ Juudai shrugs. ]

There's not much to share. I got taken up to the Celestial Plains while I was asleep once and ended up being there for three days. I had a conversation with Amaterasu-sama - she was the one who brought me there.

But, uh...

[ He remembers his conversation with Elliot, and how well that went. ]

If I try to talk about it in any more detail than that, my memories get screwed up for a couple hours.

Not sure if it counts. It was in a dream.

Considering how this place works, it counts more than not.

Well, then. I have. She wasn't exactly helpful.

Can't you sense them? They're really quite powerful you know.

Sense them? Uh, not so much.

Ah... well you probably haven't been here long enough, but I've seen them communicate with others enough, change the world completely, and seen them bring back the dead - multiple times.

Aside from that, some of us can actually sense their power - and the ability to keep me here, well, that's no small matter either.

You haven't been paying attention now, have you?

I wouldn't go that far.

Oral history and law of this place dictated the "gods" position, at least as it pertains to us. The so-called gods use what power they have over us from there to reinforce the notion.

And I would point to my recent run in with one of the gods to your original questions. I'm certain that you can find it over the device. The gods wanted that one broadcast.

[ Sasuke is lying on his futon in the ryokan and tinkering with the hitomi in the dark when he runs across this intriguing voice post. ]

No.

[ Granted, he's only been in this place for a single day, but as many times as he's heard that explanation so far, he has yet to see anything to suggest he was transported to Kannagara by any gods. After all, the Fourth Hokage's hiraishin no jutsu could transport him over great distances in the blink of an eye.

Sasuke finds no reason to believe supernatural or ineffable gods are at work here. ]

You have reason to believe otherwise?

I'm an atheist and a skeptic, so, based on that alone, I have reason.
