[Though Gau and Raikou’s departure weighs heavily on her mind, Lenalee starts the video with a small smile. She isn’t sure where to begin, with so many thoughts tumbling through her head, but having deliberated for a few hours she is convinced that things are never going to get any clearer. So Lenalee starts speaking without quite knowing where it

They're leaving one by one...
[Catches self. Not quite what she wanted to say.]
Ah... sorry!
But, uhm, hey. Maybe it'll be our turn soon, then.

[Lenalee smiles, a little more tiredly than she meant to. Pieces of her world dropping away, one by one. She isn't sure when it stopped mattering that they didn't belong in the same place together; it felt like loss when they left. And they were part of her world.]
It's fine. Do you think that would be a good thing?
[Lenalee means it as an honest question, but once the words are out it sounds a bit like an accusation.]
I'm not sure anymore.

It's a bit difficult to keep a track of time here.
[Excuse Kanda that he doesn't quite catch the solemnly sad mood of your monologue, Lenalee. Then again maybe he does and figures that it isn't at all what you need right now. After all, he's him.]
[Sudden slightly shocked expression. HE'S FINALLY INTO TWO-DIGIT AGE EVEN MENTALLY.]
...wait. Does that make, what, twenty or something.

[She smiles-- it's odd to think of Kanda as that old.]
That is a big one, we should do something to celebrate it.

[He shrugs a bit, although looks eased up by that smile a little.]
No need. It's passed.
Reply
That doesn't matter, we should still celebrate! Even if it's a little late.

Ever helpful as always. I certainly hope your kindness will not be abused.

I don't think there's anyone who would do such a thing here.
Reply
Not yet and not ever, I hope.
[One is enough after all.]

Ever since she saw Sunshine's dream, as a matter of fact.
And now here's another person mentioning it... maybe it's something contagious? his explanation wasn't very clear. Or maybe it's just not clear because she doesn't know how people are born to begin with.
Either way...]
Did you have a, um... what'd he call it? A birthday? The day where everyone is supposed to bring you food?

[What a strange question.]
People don't necessarily bring food, but at home we always had a big party on people's birthdays. It's harder to keep track of here, but I had a celebration for one of my friends a long time ago. It can be something small, like making a cake together.

[Elliot died at one of those.]
But I like food and cake so... if everyone has one, how do you know where it is? Do you have to find it, or does it find you?

[Lenalee has no idea what sort of parties Alice has been to, but it doesn't seem like something to pry into.]
What day were you born? That's your birthday.

[But a lot has happened to him, some bad, some amazingly good. Matt spins his cigarette around between his fingers as he thinks this over.]
But I guess I'm kind of a old-timer here, too. First thing I remember was about six months ago, by the way the days go here, and it seems longer, doesn't it?

It is weird. I've started keeping track of time by the seasons-- it moves differently that at home, but somehow even that feels normal now. It does make it hard to keep track of things like birthdays, though.
[She pauses a second before giving into curiosity.]
What do you mean, when you say that you don't feel any older?
[Lenalee certainly does.]
Reply
I feel different, just. Not older.

It's hard to say yet. I think that... even with that, we're probably all growing.
[She doesn't like the idea of remaining static. How could they, with all that happened?]
