-the hell?
[Video on. The video is drawn away from Kurogane's face, but it's very obvious who it is, if you've met him before. There's a rather puzzled look on his face. Then he looks away, the device falling away and showing the scenery. After a while, the video moves again, showing his face a second time.]
Damn it, where is everyone?!
[He

They're really not so bad, Fai - they just take... some...some...
[For a moment, Yuui can't seem to hold his thought, much less the teasing tone, because in that breath between one word and the next, he can feel it. An absolutely unmistakable presence back in this place, where it'd once disappeared entirely, leaving him feeling off-balance, the sudden spike of pure adrenaline completely unintentional.
His eyes widen, surprise and uncertainty there in their cerulean depths as he stands rooted to the spot, blinking dumbly at his twin.]
...he's back? Kuro-sama's--

[His own question is softer, slightly, an odd mix of exasperation and concern, with just a touch of dread for good measure as he holds his brother and waits.]

... how much did you learn about that incident? About my arm.

[Short answer for a short question - largely because they'd decided not to tell Fai about Yuui's supposed vampire state.]

[Started to...? Never mind, just telling the story.]
I did cut my arm off. Managed to save you and bring you to the next world. Then you gave up the remainder of your magic for trade for this thing. [He moves his metal arm.] The witch got it from Piffle World and had Fuuma bring it.
[Not mentioning arriving at his home world. Not an important detail.]

What!? [Looking between Kurogane and Yuui now, grasping his twin's sleeve with an expression of dawning panic.] Yuui gave up his magic?
[For you? For that thing?]

He did. He's still alive, you don't have to look so panicked.

And how does he know that?
Because the last remaining half of his magic was damn well worth more than a metal arm. It wasn't a balanced trade, not like that. So the fact that this man, his companion, could come here, now, and say that to him - to them and send Fai into a panic?
Hell no.
His magic snaps around them all like a frigid breeze, the teleportation spell winding around them with a sharp efficiency, the green around then shifting, blending, then snapping back into place once again, only to reveal their back yard in Amesato.
And the moment that his magic releases them there, he brushed a kiss across Fai's temple, set him down, and crossed the space between in two swift strides, blue eyes ablaze with a cool fire as he reached out, fisted his hand in the front of the man's yukata.]
What else? What else did you sacrifice that would make me even want to give up my last connection to Fai?

... I cut of the arm you magically attached my sword to. I lost my arm and my sword doing that, but I saved your life. I didn't pay anything for the arm, you did. Without telling me until the trade was done.

Simple: he couldn't.
Yuui was shouting, and Kurogane was...he was doing that thing where he stayed too calm. Kurogane never got mad when it was important, he just looked at you, just as he was looking at Yuui now. Fai felt strange, as if the world would end if he didn't move now. He stumbled, nearly fell, then caught himself against Yuui's leg, grasping at the rough close denim for purchase.]
Yuui...Yuui stop.
[Was he begging? Call it merely pleading, for the sake of dignity. He reached, tugged on the trailing edge of Yuui's shirt to make him look down at Fai's face, to meet his eyes.]
It's not Kuro-dummy's fault.
[They were filled with tears.]
He didn't even know Kannagare country exists. He didn't know. Let him go, lets go inside.

That for him, for Yuui, whatever had happened in Celes had been strong enough that he'd finally let Fai go. He'd accepted his beloved twin's death and his loss. He'd given up on that wish... and stepped forward, across that line, to stand beside this man.
So now, to look down at those cerulean eyes brimming with tears, and see the childishly rounded cheeks, the life right there before him and the fear-tinged plea in his sweet voice, feel the tremble in Fai's magic within his own... the guilt of it was almost too much to bear.
He slid bonelessly down to his knees, long fingers trailing over the dark folds of Kurogane's yukata before falling away to pull Fai in close, to wrap his arms protectively around his twin.]
I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Fai. You're right... it's no one else's fault. [Just mine.]

He looks back at them and seems oddly comforted by this. Even if he wasn't alright with the idea of them being together at first, he's fine with it. Although that brat doesn't seem to like him, he'll deal with him. Fa- Yuui. It's Yuui. Yuui seems happy with him there, despite this rather emotional hug. Kurogane will deal with it.]

As he stood, he tightened his arms around his brother, form yet gentle as cradling a robin's egg as he let his gaze shift to Kurogane again. There was an awareness there, and something like a resigned understanding there in the flick if his gaze.]
C'mon Fai, Kuro-sama. Let's get inside. I'm sure Vincent's in there waiting... though I hope not readying any tents just yet.
[The gentlest of teases, just enough to let his brother know he'd heard his conversation with Vincent to try to distract, hopefully.]
Kuro-dummy's not all bad, Fai. Promise.

[Dead or not, Kannagara or not, if Yuui was going to end up with Kurogane, that bastard better live up to the honor, or...or else!
Failet his grumbling trail off as Yuui opened the door, calling out with childish volume;]
Vincent! We're back! We even brought Kurogane.

Kurogane followed them into the house readying himself for anything that could happen. Hopefully not a fight, but he'd be prepared if one came up.]

[Vincent sweeps toward them, his mismatched red-and-gold eyes smiling along with the rest of the face, any concern over this man's return to this world set aside for later. After all, how can he be worried, when his friends are standing right there, and Fai is calling his name?
He nearly seems to float across the room, bare feet quiet against the floor beneath the long white skirt, and he reaches for Fai immediately. A kiss dropped on the little blond head, and he's gathering the boy out of Yuui's arms and into his own, spinning him around happily.]
Come on, I brought out the leftover muffins and warmed them, so we need to eat them before they cool, Fai.
[A pat at Yuui's shoulder is offered as he steps past him, and a nod to Kurogane.]
