[What shows up on the screen is perhaps not an entirely shocking thing, if you know Cross Marian. It's quite obvious he's sitting in a sake shop, perhaps some might recognise it as one of Yomisato's fancier ones, and he has a glass between his hands

[Lenalee isn't entirely sure that it is appropriate of her to respond to this. She is fairly certain that it is not, in fact. But General Cross was never one to pay much attention to what was or wasn't appropriate.]
General Cross?
[She doesn't know what to say. "Are you okay" seems horribly... patronizing. Anything alluding to what she saw might come off that way, but what else is she supposed to do? Act as if she is simply contacting him late at night out of the blue? And she has already addressed him now, she has to say somethingWould you like some company ( ... )

Guh--
He takes a deep breath and rubs his forehead, before he grabs the Hitomi to respond.]
Lenalee. [Silent snort.] Here? This isn't the place for someone like you.

The same could be said for anywhere here. [Her voice is clipped, and she can't help adding:] It doesn't seem like you to drink alone.
[Not that Lenalee considers herself any match for the description of the General's usual company, but... the time to himself doesn't seem to be doing him much good. Any more than staying cooped up in this house is doing her.]

[At least not outside of whatever resident he's occupying at the moment. That is, his home, here, since he does have one; always a good idea. And he chuckles silently as he props his chin on his hand, sparing Lenalee a smile.]
Suppose I can't stop you if you really insist. I admit I forgot for a moment that you're very capable of taking care of yourself.
[Since, you know, he kind of ends up unknowingly thinking of you as still that little girl who used to cling to her brother.
...
Thinking like that kind of makes him feel old.]

Because he's not going to ask unless the guy speaks up about it, but what he can do, is share a good drink or two with him to make whatever it is a little more bearable.]
On me. Just a little something I learned to make in Edonis Country.

[He pushes the glass a little closer before moving through the motions once again, creating a second glass of the same mix. With a friendly smile he reaches over to tap the rim of the man's glass with his own, then lifts his own glass, taking a long sip.]

Mmmhm, not bad.]

She hadn't mean't to look at the video - she really didn't care about some old man's grumpiness - but his face (or what she could see of it) kind of reminded her of Sister Sharon's book, with the picture...
She shrugs, crumbs trailing down the red jacket as she mumbles around her food, as if stating fact.]
Mister Grumpy just needs someone to bite his cheek. That'd make him better.

It's recording, you know.

She watches it shatter with a healthy sense of satisfaction - only to have it reappear right back into her hand. Not liking that one bit, she drops it to the floor and kicks it away, then promptly stomps over to glare down at the thing, except it's blank once again.
Kneeling down, she poked it away again, but nothing, so she pulls it closer one last time. After a few moments fumbling, Alice finally manages to find him again and sends the video before popping right back up to standing, a glare and a smirk gracing her face as she props her fists on her hips.]
Well how was I supposed to know, you stupid grumpy man! Don't be so gloomy like that stupid Seaweedhead. It's annoying!

Well well. I never thought I'd get to see the day your face ends up as long as your hair~

It reminded him to finish his research and sift back a bit further through the Hitomi to see how these two were connected.
For the moment, however, he simply glances between the two and nods towards Crosses drink.]
Here you go, Mister Break. Did you need another refill, by chance Mister Cross?

No, I'm fine.
[...and, in fact, on second thought, he's just going to ignore Break~]

[Cheerily taking the glass and taking a first taste. Oh my that does hit the mark.]

[And if he was awake, Lenalee would have no chance to leave the house at such hour for such a destination with such company.]
[Alas, he's quite heavily asleep by this hour, thanks to his common routine, having gone to bed at 9 PM complaining about the weather and young people, and therefore he has no idea about Cross' depressing evening nor Lenalee's little departure, and just rolls over at the sound of the front door closing, still asleep.]
