[ Juudai had been about to go looking for something like civilization - hopefully there'd be some kind of town or village within a reasonable walking distance - but he's just heard something from the other side of the tree (the huge tree), and it sounds like a voice. And not a voice he knows, either.

Kuriboh trills his nervousness and vanishes for the time being while Juudai makes his way through the lush vegetation. The scenery is so beautiful here. It's so beautiful that Juudai actually feels a bit worried, like something bad might happen just because no place can be this perfect. Maybe it would be wise to keep an eye on the plants, just in case.

There's a guy standing there, talking into his own phone-thing (the back said "Hitomi," is that the brand or is that what it is?). Juudai calls out: ]

Hey! Uh - hi there! Do you know where we are?

[ ...explain? Like, explain what it is? What backwards part of the world do you come from... you... Juudai has just realized he never asked this guy's name. ]

It's a card game. I can communicate with the spirits of the cards. Like Kuriboh. Your world doesn't have it? Or something like it? Like spirits?

A card game. Where you call monsters. Yeah, no, we've got nothing like that. Spirits? Yes. Ghosts? Yes. Not... mutated kittens that manifest from playing poker.

[ That last crack has Juudai's hackles up a bit: ]

Look, I don't know why your world is different from mine, but I don't like what you just said. These spirits are my friends, and if you're going to threaten any of us, then we'll just leave.

But I don't know why we're here, and it's probably going to take everyone's cooperation to figure out how to get home. So maybe you might want to calm down a little. [ He's slightly glaring; Juudai's trying not to get mad at this guy, who's probably terrified and really far from home, but it's a little hard when he's being threatened and insulted. ]
