Only a moment later it's covered by a hand that awkwardly adjusts the angle; it's a little tough to figure out how far it reaches and all that, so he can mostly just hope it's working out

[It's easier than usual to get annoyed at Break. Natural, of course, because Elliot still kind of hates him. Might as well scratch the "kind of", even. It has probably lessened just slightly; having calmed down, Elliot can sort of see where Break is coming from.

Doesn't make him any happier about it because it's still stupid. But of course Break can't understand that.

Heya! [ He greets him with a friendly smile. Goku doesn't know this Raven person, but he figures it never hurts to say hello to someone new. ]

I'm Goku. Guess I've been here a few months or so? [ Feels like forever sometimes. ] But uh, yeah...weird stuff happens kind of a lot, hehe. Sometimes there's nice stuff though. [ Not as much lately, but maybe more in the beginning. Like the free-for-all street festival where he stuffed himself silly. Things have been changing since then, though. ]

Uh...well they had this festival thing a while back. Lots of free food and everything! But they haven't done that in a while. [ Actually, nowadays even paying customers not-of-this-world don't get served sometimes in restaurants, which is completely unfair.. ]

No, he needs to stop thinking about that. He can't do anything about it, the only way he can see her again is if she comes here. But he won't hope for it too much, or think too much about it. He needs to focus on other things.]

[Oh, Road, Elliot and Gil are like fire and water in plenty of cases. Though perhaps they're alike in some ways too.

He opens his mouth right away to answer, but pauses right away. How big-- Not. At all as big as it used to be... And it strikes him again that he's the only child by blood left, he tenses for a moment and his eyes probably give something away before he frowns. Not that it really matters, he doesn't particularly think it's a secret or anything, he would rather just not talk or think about it much at the moment.

Not that he wants to forget or ignore it, far from it. It's just that it's fresh right now... and he won't let it eat him.]

[Have a Matt, smoking, looking thoughtful. He's taking this greeting the newbies thing seriously, though he guesses Elliot doesn't count as a total newbie anymore. Looking for patterns, he can understand that, even if it's doomed to lead to disappointment.]

I'm Matt, I've been here, like... three months? It gets hard to tell. Time's kinda fucked up.

And it seems like it's totally random how long people stay, but most of us are in it for the long haul, far as I can tell.

Okay. Uh. Whatever that means. Seems to be some sort of address. It kind of sounds rather impolite, which he doesn't like but he doesn't say anything. The disapproval is probably very visible on his face, though.

[He hasn't sat down and worked out the numbers or anything, though he is curious what the length of everything would mean about the size of the world. Really, he just chalks it up to magic and lets it go at that.

He notices the guy seems offended, but Matt's not sure why. The swearing?]

[He doesn't care about swearing, though he doesn't do it much himself.

Well, he hasn't been here long enough to tell about the seasons so he'll take the guy's word for it. He might see it soon enough, though he does wish he gets to go back eventually. ...he thinks?]

[Well, he had already given most answers to Elliot's questions, so now that he's asking for other people's input, Gilbert doesn't think he should do it again. What does get to him though, is that Elliot seems really set on thoroughly acquaintancing everyone he knows. He did tell him about the people he's run into the most often, after all, and he was sure there was no reason to be suspicious - yet there little brother is, wanting to know yet more. Surely, it's not near Vincent's level of interest that would be displayed on this sort of thing, but it's still a little unsettling.]

...You seem to be getting more curious every day you spend here.

[No, Elliot definitely doesn't expect Gilbert or Break to answer anything since both have already told him. He did expect a reaction from both of them, though, and definitely Gilbert.

And really, it's not that he doesn't trust Gilbert, it's just that... He's not the best in telling when people are strange.

Just look at Vincent. Sure it's a little different because Vincent is his brother and all, but still.]

[It's not about that; Elliot knows you're sturdy and would survive most things. There's just no need for there to be unnecessary hardships when it could be prevented.
