[He's been poking around on the device, trying to get used to it, when he hears Lee's voice come over the network. In his excitement he fumbles with the device a little, taking a few moments before he's got video on and he's talking.]

LEE! I copy!

[Lee is here, and not abandoned and alone facing enemy nin while Gai and Kakashi are here. It's a huge relief for Gai.]

I am here and I hear you and I am glad to see you!

[He's overjoyed and working on putting his shoes on quickly.]

I am on my way!

[Although he had faith that Gai-sensei had not abandoned him, Lee is still the epitome of surprise to see Gai on the small screen he's holding. SO surprised, in fact, that he drops the hitomi.]

Gai-sensei!!

[Fumbling with it, Lee picks the hitomi back up, relieved to see his mentor. If anything was previously wrong, all is once again right with the world now that Gai-sensei is here. Lee is beaming and there are the hints of tears welling up in the corners of his eyes.]

I am sorry! I shall wait for you here!

[Wait. That was not the least bit helpful. Lee pauses in his efforts to shake the dust off his device and he looks just a little frustrated (with himself).]

...Though I do not know where here is. I am sorry.

[It's good to hear his student's voice. Lee's a ninja in his own right now, but that doesn't stop Gai from being concerned about him. Gai would probably always be worried for Lee.]

Do not worry, Lee! I was told that everyone arrives at that tree, and it is where I was just yesterday. I can get back there. It will take me about thirty minutes, I have been told. But I am on my way!

[He flashes a thumbs-up and then he's out the front door of Kakashi's place, closing it behind him and setting off at a run.]

[Lee had returned the thumbs up as his sensei set off to find him (however awkward it was to make a thumbs up at a screen, but Lee has done weirder), but he's not sure now whether Gai-sensei saw it in his haste to get out the door. So maybe he'll make it up to Gai-sensei when he gets here, if Lee is not too busy hugging him.]

Okay! I shall wait!

[He waits very impatiently, trying not to venture too far from the spot under the tree, but standing still has never been something Lee was great at.]

[ Judging by the sudden lack of Gai, Kakashi will assume that Gai is either en route to Lee or has already made his way there by the time that he sees this. It's been quite a while since he's seen Lee, and he's glad to see a familiar face. ]

You know, Lee, if the device you are holding happened to be a trap the enemy set, and if I was the enemy, you'd be in quite a lot of trouble right about now.

[ Drawls.

Or you know, he could just say hello. ]

[Oh dear! Kakashi-sensei is absolutely right! Lee gets a very stricken look over his face. How could he mess up such an academy basic?! Gai-sensei must be so ashamed of him!]

I shall exercise more caution next time, I promise! And I will do 100 laps around this ...city? for my lack of foresight! I promise!

[ This kid is a little too serious.

Kakashi just stares at him for a moment. Right, then. ]

Relax. I was just making a point. Is Gai on his way to rendezvous with you?

[Lee tries to relax, visibly. He inhales quickly and then exhales, shoulders dropping just a wee bit. See? He has relaxed!]

Oh! Okay. Yes, Gai-sensei should be on his way!

[The teenager on the screen is wearing an apron dusted with flour, and is actually in the process of kneading dough as he speaks, the Hitomi propped on the counter before him.

His eyes, however, are on the screen, bright compassionate green orbs.]

Please calm down, Lee-san, it won't do any good to panic.

[He smiles softly, tilts his head a little.]

You've been taken out of your world and into one called Kannagara, and I'm not sure about your other comrades, but there is a Kakashi-san here, so perhaps you're in luck!

[He wants to object that he's not panicking, that he has just been taken by surprise is all, but Lee picks up on that last bit and his eyes light up.]

Kakashi-sensei is here too?!

[Everything is even better with the world, then, if both Gai-sensei AND his Esteemed Rival are here. Surely everything will make sense soon enough. He's distracted momentarily before he has the sense to reassess and properly process what this nice and helpful baker had just told him.]

Wait. ...Excuse me, baker-san? Did you say I am not in my world?

[He did not catch the name of the world he is in, however, and for that slip in attentiveness, Lee swears to himself that he will do 100 pushups later, but for now, he frowns at the little screen and scratches his head.]

[Oh, he didn't introduce himself! Not that he minds being called 'baker-san', but it wasn't very polite of him to forget!

Gau gives a low bow, so low that he disappears from the screen for a second, and then offers a sheepish smile.]

Ah, I'm sorry, my name is Gau! And I'd be glad to give you all the pertinent information about where you have found yourself, but it might take a few moments.

[He pauses, smiles softly.]

For starters, if you didn't believe in any gods, now is the time to start. Because you've been chosen by the gods to be brought into this world... for reasons that are still being debated among everyone here, quite honestly. But don't be too sad! There are many who have come here and then gone home again, so it's possible... but only when the gods decided it is time.

[Wow, this guy is like . . . really loud. The last person Marco remembers as being this loud is Visser Three, which really, this Lee guy doesn't deserve that comparison.]

[He apologizes most sincerely! Lee has issues with the volume control sometimes. If he was the type to blame the device, he would swear it does not like him! At all! Or maybe it likes him too much...he is not sure which. He smiles at the screen.]
