[Here, have an grumpy-looking Ed. Not that it's too terribly different from his general expression around Kannagara, but at the moment he's just looking irritable. It's at least a change from the angry outbursts that periodically get broadcast over the network ( Read more... )

[...well. That's one way to get his attention.]

Wait. They weren't here before?

[He knows what they are, of course; he could name most of them if he cared to, though the names probably won't matter to anyone else--unless there is someone else from his world here that he hasn't heard about yet. Entirely possible, really.

The ones he's seen so far are harmless, weak mushi that pose no threat to anyone. But that doesn't mean they're the only ones here.

He frowns a little.]

When did you first notice them?

[Oh hey, it's that guy from the other day.]

Wouldn't have said so if they were.

[And then a shrug]

Today? Might've been sooner--I was a bit caught up in the other shit the gods were pulling at the time to be paying attention.

[Like. Bringing his bastard father here :| Though, given how many he's seen around today, he doubts he could've simply missed them before.]

So what are these things?

[Oh. That's... that's not good. Did they show up with him? Is his existence in this world, directly or indirectly, responsible for the mushi being here? Or is it a side effect of all those people who came in so suddenly, and left just as quickly?

Will they disappear someday, then? A strange idea... the thought of anywhere being completely barren of mushi is almost inconceivable to him, but if this guy said they weren't here before...]

They're something pretty common where I come from--but being able to see them is less common. [Congratulations, you're one of the lucky ones.] They're known as 'mushi'.

And here I thought I was hallucinating.

[Marco has seen them, he's just not sure what they are.]

They look straight out of a Disney film.

[Jeez, these people do not know the finest culture around, do they?]

A film. You know, like a play, but it's recorded in video, just like what we are using right now. A Disney film is like but it's usually a bunch of drawings recorded in sequence to show an illusion of movement. Most Disney films have stories about princesses and fairy tails and magic.

[He looks puzzled.]

Oh. So they are not a part of this place. Do things get "changed up" by the

[He hesitates, looking a bit unsure. Gai's still trying to come to terms with gods being here. The only reason he believes it is because Kakashi believes it, really. After a moment he continues again.]

[He shrugs noncommittally.]

Often enough to be a pain in the ass.

[Gai frowns.]

I'm sorry. But that doesn't tell me much. Can you estimate?
