[The screen opens on a snake, long body mostly coiled save for the diamond-patterned head swayed slowly back and forth, and as the hitomi skitters a little to the side, nudged by a small foot, Dre can be seen, slowly taking an easy stance in front of the serpent who seems more curious than anything

[Fox watches what happens curiously, at first amused at the boy and his training with the snake, then with a concerned expression when the dirt starts being thrown. She winces in sympathy when she sees the snake bite the boy, but there's nothing she can do, so she doesn't respond.]

[ Chikushōdō, Kokuyo's territory, and Ken (in general) have given Chrome an immunity to any fear of snakes, so she isn't startled by the opening of the broadcast. (Oh. What's --? a boy? didn't she see him once before?) To be that age again. A little dangerous, what he's doing, but she thinks of Ken and Chikusa and Mukuro-sama when they were younger, and what they must have been like before she met them. Sometimes little boys are -- like that.

(And there is a moment where her thoughts almost wander towards . . .) ]

[ Then, she sucks in a breath.

And remembers, suddenly, why she has not been keen on checking the network. What can you even do when --! ]

[Dre's not exactly thinking clearly, having settled himself between two large rocks and out of firing range should any of the natives decide for a second round.]

Coordinates? [He sounds dazed and flustered] Um what are you- oh right... thats.. thats on this thing isn't it um... [Fumbling a little he finally finds it and reads it out.]

I'm in that Kuzesato or Kazesato place...

[ The antagonism from the native population is unnerving to say the least. Even towards children. Even them.

That the boy is still speaking and coherent enough to stutter out the coordinates is a positive sign. Just keep talking. Just hang on. Don't lose consciousness or anything. Chrome is going to make a run for it. ]

[It begins rather curiously, with a slithering snake that doesn't seem all too menacing at first. Goku watches with growing interest, especially when he recognizes the boy in the video as his friend, whom he hasn't seen in a little while. But the video quickly turns rather alarming. Was Dre under attack? Goku scrambles up to his feet when he sees the snake sink its teeth into Dre's hand.]

Dre!? What's going on? Are you okay?

[Dre responds when he's in his makeshift hiding spot. No more yelling can be heard, but he's not taking any chances.]

I think m'fine. Snake got me. [He's mumbling softly, distractedly from both a mix of fear and from not wanting to be discovered] Hand really hurts.

But I think the scary dudes are gone. [he turns to try peeking between the rocks]

[He nods, putting on a brave face, though he's worried a little about the snake bite. Hakkai says they can be poisonous, sometimes.]

Where are you? I'll come getcha. [If those scary dudes were still out there, they'll have to face Goku before they can hurt Dre again. What was wrong with people, really? Picking on a young kid! It riles him up a bit.]

[Rubbing his head he smiles awkwardly] Thanks man.

I'm in some place called "Kazesato"...its all dry and stuff. [He coughs almost as if on cue] And there a lot of dust.

Are you all right? Was that a venemous snake?

[Was it? She didn't know, but if it was, she wasn't sure what else could be done without a Dicleary spell. How did people treat snakebites without magic?]

[Rubbing at a dirty cheek he shakes his head]

I don't know. I can't really tell different snakes ap- [He stops dead when he thinks he hears people coming, but when he figures out there's no one there he rubs at an eye] ...I can't tell them apart.

But I think I'm alright.

I'll come anyway. I can cast a spell that'll remove any poison, just to be safe.

[He didn't answer the first time, and Amelia hoped he'd answer again. Once he knew she wasn't just some random gawker.]

Uumm... I'm is Kazesato...[He mumbles, rubbing at his face. He still can't quite believe what just happened.]

[ As soon as he saw the beginning of the video he was frowning; Dre, why with a snake...?

[ Itchy fingers and cold panic; if he recognized the place he would have already been running. Poisonous snake or not, whoever had been throwing things at him- ]

[In time to come Dre would be worried about how much trouble he was causing, but at the moment that really isn't on his mind.

Because by this point Dre has curled up into the best ball he can, staying hidden]

K-kazesato [he whispers hoarsely, dirty face leaning in closer to the screen] ...those people...they've never attacked me before, Mr. Allen.

[ It's just voice this time, and the line crackles a little from moving quickly. Already on his way ]

I know. I didn't think... I'm sorry-

[ He really hadn't thought- ]

[whitenighting]

[ But his voice shifts suddenly, interrupting himself and forced lighter like someone trying keep smiling - keep others smiling - instead of feeling the fear inside. ]

Listen... keep the line open and talk to me if you need to. It's not so scary then, right? I'm going to be there soon.

[ A pause. Seems quiet and Dre's responding, so- ]
