Elfangor isn't entirely certain of who (or what) this is... but the message makes his skin prickle, and he feels something dreadfully close to the instinct to run that strikes just prior to a storm.

Do you know why they abducted us? And when we are meant to return home would be good knowledge to have as well, the war effort will suffer without my presence on the battlefield.
[That's a flimsy excuse: she just wants to get back to her captain. The war is only important because it makes her captain happy when they win battles and protect England.]
