And she doesn't want to broadcast the fact that she's unarmed, but at this point her need to procure a weapon to protect the Colonel and herself has overridden her generally cautious nature.]From the general level of technology here, it ( Read more... )

[Matt hasn't spoken to this woman, but he knows she's a friend of Ed's, which is good enough for him. It might be silly, given that the information he has is pretty freely available, but he still wouldn't tell just anyone about this.]

There's a shop where they can get stuff from people's homes. I bet a gun's gonna be pretty pricey, though.

Is that so? Could you tell me where it is?

[Damn. There's that money problem. She'll have to figure something out...]

Yomisato.

I'm Matt, by the way. I know Ed a little.

Yomisato. How will I find it?

My name is Riza Hawkeye. How do you know Edward?

[It's not suspicion, its just curiosity. If anything, she's more afraid that Edward has done something to offend Matt than the other way around.]

Sometimes.

But they're only really dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

[Or if you do and you mean to be dangerous. But that's another story.]

It would not do for weaponry to fall into careless hands.

Your tone has the air of a professional. Am I mistaken in that conclusion?

You're not mistaken. I'm quite well-trained.

There's a summoning shop in Yomisato. They can get you most of the goods you require from your old world, for the right price of course.

[Intrigued? Why just a little how could you tell?]

'Summoning?' How do they bring things in from different worlds?

I am afraid that I do not know the answer to that inquiry. The shop workers are very secretive with their trade. I think they want to claim monopoly over it. Though they did say one thing. They can't bring LIVING things.

A firearm, Lieutenant? In a place like this?

[Well, he couldn't be separated from his gloves in a strange new land either, but it makes him actually concerned something's happened. Only it doesn't translate like that.]

Yes, sir. You never know when one will be useful.

[It makes her nervous to go without one. Makes her feel at a disadvantage and she hates that. And it makes her feel less than useful, too, which she likes even less.]

True. But I wonder why you took the harder route to do it. [He might even sound thoughtful. Or maybe he's just playing with something. It doesn't matter.]

I'm not sure what you mean, sir.

[She sounds level as ever. Whether or not she actually does know what he's alluding to, she's not revealing.]

Only place you're likely to find anything remotely similar's Yomisato. This place isn't exactly very...advanced. The Hitomi is probably the highest form of technology they've got.

[Not that it alone is any slouch, but there's nothing here that even really compares.]

I've noticed that. But I'm not overly fond of the idea of attempting to switch over to bow and arrow.

Have you been to this place in Yomisato?

The summoning shop? I haven't actually been there, but I've seen it around Yomisato. Winry and I are living there, now.
