[ There's a sudden rustling of a body in an expansive field, not far from the place of the great tree. A woman with hair green and flowing like the grass all around her cracks open her eyes - a distinctive shade of gold, quite a contrast to her ghostly skin. The angle makes it hard to make out any other features, as the Hitomi is laying some

You are quite correct about this place not being Kyoto, miss.
Welcome to Kannagara. You will probably be here for a while just giving you that little bit of heads up warning.

[Break grins in kind]
Indeed. Let's hope they remember that.

[ Something else about that smile bothers the witch... but she dismisses it for the moment, just settling him with a pointed look. ]
Hmph. You sound like you sample little ones on the side yourself.

[he blinks, faking surprise]
Nonsense. I always hand out treats to the little ones. They are drawn to the offer of candy like flies.

[ Trust C.C. to always tell it like it is, in as direct (and embarrassing) a manner as possible. ]

Oh I've been called far worse. In the end it doesn't matter what people call me. All that matters is what I do.

[ A pause, and then... ]
I like men of action.
I think you and I are going to get along just fine.
[ Unpredictable, indeed. But at least Break seems to have won her favor. For now. ]

in that case I shall look forward to our future encounters. Perhaps face to face even.
[man of action indeed. But not a reckless one. You've earned yourself a very high place on his list of interesting people C.C.]

Unless you're particularly confident in your ability to resist me, Mr. Break. I wonder why they call you that...
[ She grins suggestively at the screen. Or is that at him? The feeling of fascination of mutual. This world was full of unique people, and she couldn't wait to meet them all. ]

Resisting temptation is a skill you polish by giving in to it. And I have made such mistakes more than once. Then again being tempted by one such as yourself may not prove such a bad thing. Providing you can succeed in doing so, of course. I wouldn't make it easy for you either way.
[oh he can do suggestive grins as well see?]

You, make mistakes? Perish the thought. What are we, though, but men and women? It's forgivable.
[ Except Break is no mere man, and C.C. is no mere woman. These are delicious lies they're weaving, and while C.C. ordinarily hates lies, she's developing quite a fondness - or rather fascination - for Break. ]
The best things in life never come easily, Mr. Break. Trust me [ ahahahaha ] when I say I'm accustomed to stubborn fellows such as yourself.

I was young, foolish and blind.
[smirks at that. The feeling is quite mutual. This exchange is by far the most enjoyable he has had since coming here]
Such a high appraisal. I am flattered. You certainly seem more...experienced at this than my previous playmate.

[ But C.C. doesn't even remember when was any of those things, it's been so long. ]
Don't be. It's not flattery, just an honest observation. You can always expect that from me.
[ The mention of a 'playmate' puts her at some unease, but she masks it behind a perfected smile. ]
And dare I ask what happened to them?

Your world certainly sounds like an interesting place if you're a product of it.
