So perhaps he was one of the few that had remained the same then. It was one thing when it was people he didn't know not recognizing him but when it was a friend, someone he'd come to trust giving him that look, however innocent the words might've been, it was more hurtful than he'd have expected.]

Unfortunately, this place is not 'Atollo'. You are currently in Himorogi, a sacred grove in the land called Kannagara, and you my friend, have been pulled here from there.

For a moment he just stares at the device, trying to decide which is more likely that strange gods had yanked him out of his world only to have him yanked out of their world by gods more familiar to him... or if this was just another of the island's tricks.

They both sounded absolutely absurd but he had to admit that Raikou's insistence about where he truly was held a lot more weight than anything he'd heard from the others.]

I find it difficult to believe that. The entirety of the island of Atollo changed before, people forgot themselves completely, believed themselves to be part of that world...

The fact that you seem to be so suspicious of me makes me rather certain that you are affected by one such curse.

Whichever the case may be, one thing I can definitely say for sure is that as we are now, I'm familiar with this place and you are not, so please. Stay there - Himorogi is the safest place in this world - and I'll come get you. We can figure things out from there, right?

I appreciate the concern for my safety, Shimizu-san, but...

[He pauses, eying the device again. All of the reasons Raikou should know that he doesn't really need to worry about him are useless right now, of course. Did he really want to take the time to explain to this Raikou-who-wasn't-his-Raikou that he was a shinigami and the density of spiritual energy here was jamming up all of his ability to sense... just about anything really.

He didn't like it, especially since he didn't know who remembered themselves and who didn't. In a place like this an arrancar could easily sneak up on him and he'd never be able to sense the difference in spiritual pressure.]

[That request definitely has Raikou frowning, even as he starts through his house to find Gau, the worry and evasion in the other’s expression just barely there for him to see - but see it, he does. It has him curious and no little bit on guard, but he’s no longer foolish enough to try to spare Gau the danger of approaching an unknown in order to protect him.

Instead, he’ll just bring his lover with if that’s his desire and face this familiarity in an unfamiliar face with a quiet resolve.

For now, however, he just shakes his head and frowns.]

I’d prefer not, to be perfectly frank. If you stay where you are now, it is a strictly neutral place. The monsters and demons of this place cannot enter there and violence is strictly forbidden and divinely protected against. Until you know more of this world, that is the safest place for you. Do you understand?

[His brows knit a little tighter as Raikou speaks and he can't help feeling a bit hurt by it. He knows the other man is smarter than that, more cautious. And it's easy enough to understand that while he might be saying it's in Kira's best interest to stay put it's really that it's more in Raikou's best interest as well and that, of course, is what matters.

After a hesitant moment he sighs heavily and nods.] I don't like it. I have friends here that I should like to contact whom I cannot sense from this place. But if it is the only way that you will feel comfortable speaking then I shall remain here.

[He can't wait for you to get back to normal Raikou... he doesn't like being so blatantly mistrusted.]
