Yacumama and Capricornus Solos

Overview

I chose to bunch these 2 VNM solos together since they are really very similar and spawn in the same zones (part of the Blue Abyssite Krabkatoa path).  Unlike the previous VNM solos outlined here, I'm going to offer multiple zone strategies for these 2 NMs, which have good fighting spots in Jugner [S], East Ronfaure, and East Ronfaure [S] ( ( Read more... )

Needs dalma! I'm short the 15 piece on Morrigan but probably won't spend the 12M on ingots at the moment."

That was a fairly short moment. Grats on the robe. :)

Ah, very interesting. I spent like an hour there the other day to find pinning locations, and I DID notice that they were attacking "through" the fence, but never occurred to me that they considered me on that side of the fence.

I did, however, found a stone fence that made NM's path slightly differently in the present which I used. However, with these your strats, they are much better and pin much easier. Thanks!

A lot of these I actually haven't found myself. My LS has a SMN that just summons Carbuncle and walks around areas with a lot of terrain. Carby will act as a mob as it tries to follow you and if you find a glitch point, Carby will have messed up /follow pathing. That's how we found the East Ronf and Jugner S ones here. There's also a Jugner present one but I didn't feel very good about it.

As far as attacking through the fence, I think the mob will always attack you if you're in melee range. It's only after you're out of it that the AI attempts to find the best path towards you (and that's where the glitch is).

In East Ronfaure [S], you can actually stand along the north side of the fence at the corner where it rurns into your angled section with your triangle. Simply stepping past the threshold of the angle and back a grand total of 2 steps makes it change direction. This allows for completing lots of spells by ending up in the same location, useful for putting up stoneskin and things.

I think we're actually saying the same thing (correct me if I'm wrong). I outlined the zone in red as "the area where the mob thinks you're on the other side". You would obviously try to be as close to the fault line as possible. I recommended that you stay at the northwest edge to walk in and out, which seems to be the same area you're referring to.

I have to say, I'm curious as to your thoughts on the upcoming level cap increase and the change in what subjobs grant because of it - as well as any predictions you might have concerning new spells/abilities/traits.
