Feuerunke Solo

Overview

We've already established the idea beyond the terrain usage we are employing on these NMs (see previous posts here and here), so I'll try to keep this one more specific to the NM in question.  Feuerunke is the Doomed Teir II VNM that pops in Glacier, Xarcabard, and their past-zone counterparts.  Compared to the previous two solos covered on ( Read more... )

Needs dalma! I'm short the 15 piece on Morrigan but probably won't spend the 12M on ingots at the moment.

Amen! out with the the dull & in with the pimpin!

big congrats on chapeau! Its amazing how much progress you're making back on Odin. Good help is so hard to come by these days, i'd trade a relic and more for a reliable, dedicated group of people.

Gogo networking power!

Yea everyone's been really helpful. I'll probably never get fully decked, but at this point in the game, I feel it's more about doing the things you enjoy rather than jumping through hoops for every last time.

Thank you for posting this solo info! The times I usually play at make it hard to find T2 help and it took me a couple tries but I downed him today RDM/NIN! 1/1 On Purple Abyssi! Here's hoping the ring drops for my boyfriend :)

You can use the same-ish sort of strategy on Lord Ruth if you have like 1 runner (anyone that can hold hate at 10k CE) and either 1-2 RNG or SMNs. It goes surprisingly fast when it's not spamming drain moves. Best of luck on ring!

Just on a side-note, how do you feel about RDM tanking?

With the new magian weapon giving +5% pdt, RDM can get close to 30% in a melee setup (over 30% in campaign or lucky enough to have dring). I've done some campaign tanking like this and I have to say its damn fun to feel damn near indestructible.

Have you tinkered around with the idea of it at all?

I think you're best off with a Terra's Staff when tanking. I can't think of anything hard you'd want to be meleeing as a tank so it's best to get the -20% on staff. the sword + shield combo might be nice for campaign mobs though. There are so many good guides on RDM tanking already that I don't know if there's much more to add on it.

I'm sitting on a purple abyssite, but will probably use it by Friday. (That way, I can work on Erebus solo in Beaudicine).

Previously, I have attempted a straight tank Erebus solo in Beaudicine and was able to last about 1 hour (but only getting it down to 85% because of the difficulty of the tanking/ga's/elemental changes).

With a pinning strategy, using the Feurunke location I had posted(NE one), I believe that this is also possible on Erebus. Without the fear of melee attacks and just using a M.Def set (I have 60-65% reduction due to a combination of M.Def and -Magic gear), just by watching the Tier IV's and countering with a Tier 1 to change element, Erebus can essentially kill itself while you concentrate your MP on stoneskin and curing yourself. (Can use a Barfire set too-- since I typically leave it in Fire mode)

More to come!

It would be interesting to see how much fire resist you need to resist those Firaga IIIs consistently. I really prefer to use a resist set over a MDT% set, but really the solo should be doable with just MDT%. I think the first person who solo'd it did it that way + a normal kind of kite and slow II.

Either way, interested in seeing what you come up with!
