Ah, ha, I have survived! Triumph, yes.

The last few weeks have been stupidly, hideously busy, and the next few weeks perhaps even more so - but the end is in sight! Last weekend monanotlisa came for a visit, and we had a fabulous time visiting the Moctezuma exhibit, viewing the 'Ice Worlds' show at the National Maritime Museum, afternoon tea at the Wolseley ( Read more... )

Yes. Drama makes me want to hide until it goes away.

I don't care if it's clogging up yuletide, I just want it out of yuletide_admin. :\

That said, I'm now working on my list of offered fandoms and prompts... a sure-fire way to brighten any day!

brokenhut has a few times now made Jamie Oliver's mulled wine- recipe linked to and some pictures here at my blog for your delectation. It works differently as you make a sugary spicey syrup first to get all the flavours and then add the wine. Means you don't burn off all the alcohol either. Yumm!

Welcome-almost-back! Not being dead is good; having Africa and Yuletide to look forward to, even better, I'd say. :) By the way, did you hear they put B5 on the list of eligible fandoms? *squees* I'm in half a mind about joining myself this year, as it might help to break me out of my usual monofannishness when it comes to writing... But frankly the whole thing is making me twitchy as hell - the amount of panic generated about it is already huge, and signups haven't even started yet! Is it really as complicated as people are making it out to be? *gnaws fingernails*

It's considerably simpler... I really don't understand what all the panic is about, frankly! I put aside a weekend or two to do my assigned fic, get it betaed the following week, and submit a week or two before the deadline. Then it's pinch-hitting, and then it's the week before the archive opens, and I'm locked into IRC chat and writing like a mad woman, trying to get as much fic written as quickly as possible. It's nuts, but it's a definite highlight for me. I say go for it - you can by-pass any of the (very recent!!) crazy and stick to the (traditional) crazy of IRC chat very easily...

The main thing for me is trying to work out whether or not to offer any 'safe' larger fandoms to write in (e.g. B5) or to stick my original plan of only offering the smaller, rarer ones. Decisions, decisions.
