You can get an Arvin Sloane action figure!!!

I'm torn between a need to stay far, far away, and a desire to produce my credit card and plop it on the table. help.

Also of interest is Volume 1 of Doktor Sleepless, which I haven't read, and which is guaranteed to bring the Warren Ellis!happy. But does it? Flist, you've all kept up with your comic ( Read more... )

I've seen the Arvin Sloane action figure at a convention three years ago. It doesn't look anything like him, so save your money...

I've never had an action figure, and am generally not really tempted for them, but there was something so deliciously wrong about a Sloane one... *shakes head*

Oh, well. I can always buy more shoes...

I haven't read 'Doktor Sleepless,' but I get the impression people like it, so if you're an Ellis fan, give it a shot --

Hmmm. I appear to have to order it from random people. Why is not being stocked centrally? :( May wander into Forbidden Planet to see if they have it in stock so I can flip through it beforehand. I've only got half the Fables, Transmet, Lucifer and Sandman TPBs, so there's that alternative, of course. Now that I am no longer living with someone with a fully-stocked library, I have to acquire my own stock.

Doktor Sleepless really clicked for me only in issue #10; the protagonist (and the world) is even more nihilistic than good old Spider. Reading the book leaves a strange taste in the mouth, but/so it's definitely an Ellis work *g*. I think it's worth it, as long as you aren't expecting sanity.

Hmmm. It sounds like I should probably hold off on the time being, and maybe buy the first two volumes together...?

YMMV :D. Patience isn't my strong suit, so I just read it as it comes out. Maybe you could flip over an issue or so to see if it catches your interest as an ongoing thing.

I could never bring myself to buy these, mostly b/c the Sydney figure looks so mannish that it might as well be a David Hasselhoff figure.

Never had an action figure, but thought it would be interesting. Of course, I now want to see what the Jack Bristow one looks like.
