Thank you honey! *smooches*. But, honestly, I need to leave poor Ilyria alone and finish part 2 of 'afterdays' before IT EATS MY LIFE. yes.
p.s. TAG! *pokes you & runs away in slightly tipsy manner*

This is really, beautifully written--spare and desolate, yet oddly detached, like Illyria herself.
She left Los Angeles to FEMA, and the two human bodies to the coroners. The ashes, she scattered to the wind, and thought no more of it.
This kicked me in the gut. Great job.

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. (I've fallen a little bit in love with Ilyria. her perspective on the world is so different from the others - it's like crack, I'm telling you...)

Excellent. I really like how you've made Illyria away from the others and yet not bothered by humans.

The shell's schooling had involved video footage of some sort of war - she was not certain which - and a mushroom cloud rising over the desert sun.
(It looks different with a Coca-Cola billboard in the foreground.)
Ooh, shivery and horrible, lonely and just... Dead. I can see her clock-work self winding down and just...stopping. Somewhere.
Good stuff.
