Okay, Perhaps this is Becoming an Illness, but. . .

. . .It's nearly 3:00 am, and I've been glued to the TV most of the night watching and re-watching (oh, about a dozen times) Adam's performances on the Idol finale.

He was 1,000 times better than Kris.  He was even able to make the final number - Kara's hideous song - listenable, but I did feel sorry for both Adam and Kris that they had to sing it ( Read more... )

Kris's first song was ok, but his second was painfully unlistenable. The final song was a terrible song, but Adam is such an interesting performer, he made it listenable, yeah.

I feel so bad you didn't get to vote! I was hitting the phones off and on for three hours and voted for Adam probably 100-200 times.

Even if he doesn't win tomorrow, I think he'll have a much better career than Kris will. Kris is generic and uninteresting, and Adam is incredibly talented.

Terry, I don't know much about American Idol, but I do know that whoever wins is irrelevant. Haven't the most successful people to come off the show been people who DIDN'T win? The fact that the guy you liked most may not win shouldn't prevent you from watching in the future, because whether he wins or loses, watching the show made you aware of a singer you like and enjoy and will support in the future ( ... )

It occurred to me later that what I wrote in the second paragraph may have seemed harsh or dismissive. I wasn't trying to put you down for participating in something that's obviously a lot of fun for a lot of people. I was just trying to say that you shouldn't take it to heart if your guy loses, because the voting has no relation to anything but the game. What matters is the music. If the guy is good, he'll build a career and nobody will care whether he won this game or not.

Yup. I don't watch the show, but I've seen clips of his performances here and there, and he's GOOD. It seems like he'll be successful no matter what. Personally, I'd hope his career goes more along the lines of Jennifer Hudson's than Taylor Hicks', you know?

In two hours of dialing, I think I got a dozen votes in.

Aw, thanks for thinking of me in my time of woe. :)

I was shocked, enraged, disgusted, devastated. After screaming obscenities at the TV for 5 minutes, I did have a good cry - but Spouse gave me lots and lots of huggles. The result was a crime - but then again, this is the same America that put Bush in office.

Spouse consoled me by promising to accompany me to all of Adam's concerts, so, at least I have that to look forward to. . .plus, my beloved Adam will be a superstar!

:( I'm sorry. Even though I didn't watch much, it was obvious that Adam was much more talented than Mark McCraw. He clearly deserved to win.

Sam, you do realize that Mark McCraw wasn't the other contestant, right?

I think Kris looks a little like Mark.
