CEOs of increasingly shitty game companies stepping down due to financial losses by their companies? This is the beginnings of a trend that I could totally get behind. The only thing that remains to be seen is if this is a good trend (i.e. the successor comes in and realizes that they need to stop doing the stupid stuff that lost them all that ( Read more... )

I find that in many cases when a CEO "steps down", it's because they've likely been informed "step down, or you're fired."

So while change can probably be expected. It's only going to be whatever change that the new CEO thinks will generate more short-term profits for investors.

Short term at the cost of Long term survival usually.

Yeah, they don't want to lose those golden parachutes that they (probably?) wouldn't have anymore if they actually got fired for being incompetent.

I, too, fear that whoever comes in after these guys will be even worse, somehow, someway. I don't hold much hope of the companies as a whole wising up and ceasing to do the shitty stuff they do. Still gotta keep those clueless shareholders happy, after all.
