I'm only about six or so hours in, but so far Jade Empire is roughly the equivalent of Knights of the Old Republic + 12.

Sucks that I have to sleep now though.

And to avoid the confusion that has come up elsewhere, that is a twelve, and not some weird attempt to combine KOTORs 1 and 2 into a single game.

You sound like me when it comes to KotOR. I think I prefer the first one, but the second does rock (except for the end game. what was up with that? and the cut stuff? Bah!).

Now, if only someone did like Valve and redid the first game using the engine from the second game. PrCs and all the cool customization stuff in KotOR... *_*

Oh man, that whole Malachor V scenario was just a joke.

Yeah, if they'd had the influence and Jedi training aspects of party member interaction in the first game that was in Sith Lords, that would have totally rocked. Imagine being able train Carth or Mission as Jedi and/or turn them to the Dark Side. They kinda sorta had inklings of that, what with how you could try to tempt Juhani, or how you could get Mission to hate her brother, but it didn't really affect them in the long run as they still stayed on the Light Side in the end.

As an aside, mind tricking Zalbaar into killing Mission is probably one of the most evil things I've done in such a game yet. ^^; She should've listened to Carth and fled with him. ;p I haven't actually finished the Dark Side path of KOTOR 2 yet though, and I'm just getting into Jade Empire, so maybe something will come along to top that. >_>

From what I've heard, DS is just slightly crappier than light side ending. But you get to wipe the floor with various Jedi masters, so it kinda evens out.

I'm waiting for the fan-run Restoration Project to put out a mod to reinsert a lot of the cut scenes, like the HK factory and various Malachor V cut scenes, and bump the sound up to pseudo-stereo instead of the current mono.

I wouldn't mind being able to teach the convert-Jedi PrCs either. Handmaiden with Weapon Master levels.

I wanted to get Juhani romantically interested in me as well as dark side, but that route appears to be about as complete as the male romances in KotOR2.
