Another Linguistic Pet Peeve

Wow, I can't believe I haven't already made a post about this one before now.

The word is "regardless." All right?

When I see people use "irregardless" when they obviously mean "regardless," it is the linguistic equivalent of fingernails on chalkboard. It's in the same vein as the whole " could care less" thing, in that you're pretty much saying the exact opposite of what you intended to say. Well, it's actually worse than that, because "irregardless" isn't really a word at all, in the first place.
