Of Colds and Kitty Cats

Damn it, I have a cold! Sore throat, stuffy head, aches...I was kind of hoping that with two different flu shots this season no self respecting germ would come near me.  No such luck! And I finally got two days off in a row, and haven't the energy to do a darn thing. :P Didn't even go to band rehearsal last night. I really wish parents would keep ( Read more... )

I sometimes think that discouraging cats from doing something only makes them want to do it more!
Hope you start feeling better.

Boo-boo bunny.......force fluids until you feel your kidneys coming out your ear canals....the more you drink, the looser the congestion becomes....if you can, use a cool mist or warm mist humidifier or vaporizer, right next to you, wherever you are....the mist or steam helps to loosen the congestion....when the muscles between your ribs begin to hurt from coughing, grab a throw pillow or bed pillow & squeeze it as tightly to your chest as you can to support the muscles.....if you don't notice the slightest bit of improvement in your symptoms after 48 hours on your antibiotic, PLEASE call your physician....bag those tissues ........tell your partner to load up on the vitamin C (as long as she had no history of heart or kidney problems) because you, my dear one, are contagious with every cough until you've been on that antibiotic for 4 days....& please, please, please, please, please finish your antibiotic, every single pill.

Had pneumonia twice in the 90's. Interesting experience.

Rest, rest, rest, rest, rest....

Thank you so much. I hate being sick because it means I can't run around like a crazy person. The impetus to go to the doctor this morning was that I woke up feeling like I'd been run over by a train. She gave me one of those super antibiotics so I'm looking forward to feeling better soon.

By any chance did she give you Zithromax?

If you are not feeling much, much, MUCH better by the last tablet, PLEASE call her. It is not unusual to either need a second run of Zithromax or a different antibiotic. (doesn't mean you have a deadly infection....zithromax is just not exactly the silver bullet)

Rest, rest, rest. I promise you, if you run around like a crazy person, your body will get its revenge.

Yeah, something like zithromax, and she said to call if I wasn't feeling considerably better in like 48 hours or so.

I get it. No crazy person. Actually, I don't have the energy.

Okay, you're off the Zithromax. Are your symptoms totally better?

I'm feeling a lot better. Still coughing, but the doctor said that the cough could last up to a month, yippee.
