Rika waited impatiently in front of group 3's designated ( Read more... )

Takura was extremely late to get to the bus...he had to walk the entire distance from his house to the bus...he felt bad when he finally arrived and most everyone was already waiting outside the bus. He carried with him a small plastic bag filled with 4 out of his 6 owned outfits. He also carried two of his many drum major maces. A woodlook shaft with black and gold cords...and a black shaft with green and yellow cords. Both were over used and dented quite a bit. When he retrieved his booklet from the young woman passing them out...he made his way tward the back of the group of kids...trying hard not to make eye contact with anyone else on his way. He looked up when the young woman began to speak. As she explained about the groups and such...he laid down his maces and opened to page two of his own booklet. He found his name under group C...he didnt recognize anyone in his group...he wasnt very happy about being such a new person around all these new people. After a few momments...when the young speaker stopped talking and joined the ( ... )

"um...well...thank you..." Takura smiled back at her. He returned the bow, though it was a small nod of the head. He then realized that he'd left her holding his other mace...he reached out for it, felt a little bad for making her hold it for so long. "thank you for being so kind...not many people like you in the district where i came from...birds will sing...and your very nice..."

Amanda gave him a smile and gave him the mace back, not at all thinking it's heavy, or even seeming to notice the weight. "I like birds. Oh! And butterflies. Do you like butterflies? You're nice too, we're gonna be great friends!" she said in an excited, almost bouncy way.

Takura smiled back at Amanda...she was a really nice person. He hadnt really expected people to be so nice to him...

"Oh yes...i love Butterflies...they are so...adorable...and birds??? I cant stand birds...cuz one time...i did a toss with a brand new mace...and a bird flew into the dome and dented it...i was mad...a little bit..." He also was very excited when he spoke to her.

Amanda blinked at the mention of tossing the mace, then gave him another smile. "You toss that thing? You must have thrown it really high for a bird to hit it. Hey look, a caterpillar!" she said, going from looking at his mace to looking at a semi-nearby tree, eyes narrowing in on said caterpillar.

As Amanda looked beyond him at the tree behind Takura...he decided he'd tortured her long enough...so he picked up his loose clothes...and turned to her...

"Well...im going to board the bus...thank you Amanda...for being so nice to me...ill see you around..." With that...he made his way to the bus.

Amanda picked her stuff up and ran after him. "Did I say something mean? I didn't mean to..." she said as she caught up, making it seem she thought it her fault that he didn't want to talk to her anymore.

He stopped an looked at Amanda. "No...you didnt do anything wrong...i just thought i must have been bothering you..."he said. Takura was always looked down upon and was never accepted into a crowd of any type of person...he ussually spared others of his annoying presence, but to him Amanda seemed interested in his friendship...and it made him feel really good about himself...wasnt a familliar feeling...

Amanda blinked at him a few times before giving him a big, bright smile. "you weren't bothering me. I just like caterpillars. They turn into butterflies and then they're really pretty."
