It's cold!

Thanks to the arrival of lots more snow and ice since yesterday's picture, we lost our electricity today and azigazi and I had to postpone our trip to Minnesota. Yesterday, I enjoyed a liesurely walk home (stopping to admire the lights). Today as I walked outside after a couple hours of being in windowless rooms (or rooms where people not me have decided to close the shades, I was surprised* to find the picture of the day.

As tends to happen with the approach of winter, it has been growing much colder outside. The effects of this are quite noticeable inside, too, if one is in an older building with drafty windows. There is a solution to this airflow problem: the picture of the day.

Since there's still nobody living below us, it's hard work for us to try and keep things warm. That and the setting on our thermostat seems to have no clear correlation to what the actual temperature becomes. lcd_cow has been using a heater fan, and his room is about 15°F warmer than the rest of the apartment. I woke up this morning (09:00a) to a beautiful clear blue sky. By lunchtime it had become completely overcast, poured rain, and cleared up again more than once. During one of the moments of mostly clearness (about 17:00p) I took the opportunity to take the picture of the day.
