Something I'm frequently tempted to do is to stop in at the Miriam Switching Post. They always have something there that wasn't there before. Once upon a time I purchased a dresser there, but I've not since removed the tag that prevented others from buying the same one before I could find a large vehicle and pick it up. I've posted so many pictures of various construction goings-on already, but if there are two things that you can count on the school to be doing, it's planting flowers and building something new. Another crane...or, well...maybe it's the same crane? Still, it's another picture of the day.

Today is Easter Monday. This holiday is best known to lots of schoolchildren across St Louis (and elsewhere) as another day off school (yay!). Once I was in an English class where the teacher handed out a sheet of redundant phrases and expressions (like now currently) that people often use. Several places I've lived there are grates that cover ducts and the like. (No surprise there.) A few times, the design means that you can vaguely see through to someplace else. For example, it's the picture of the day.

It's amazing how nice a few moments can make for a good day. Nothing terribly exciting happened today, but for a brief time I was just sitting here along the walk admiring the flowers as the skies relinquished their light for the evening.

After we took down our containment field (er, plastic), something had to be done with the masking tape that was keeping its matrix stable (er, holding it up against the wall).

Unrelatedly, we (like everyone else) get bountiful quantities of unsolicited commercial mail (spam) in our mailboxes. One such advertisement made its way into the picture ( Read more... )
