What a trip last night's baby basics class was! The class itself was really basic and I wouldn't say that we learned anything new except for a trick to tell if your baby is too hot or too cold (by feeling the back of their necks). LOL! That is too funny! That poor kid is going to end up living in a bubble. I can just see him now, bundled up in the winter to the point where he can't move, a la A Christmas Story!

so what's the trick with the back of the neck for the temperature? we didn't learn that one and I am so gun shy about sticking something up my child's arse.

The trick isn't to see if your child has a temperature so much (sorry...the rectal way is the best for that), but to see if they are cold or bundled in too many clothes. If the back of their neck feels cool then they are dressed too cool. If it feels warm or clammy, they are dressed too warm.
