Ooooh, I HATE THAT! We had a buzzer in the apartment, and because we faced away from the parking lot, I couldn't even head them off when Colin was sleeping.
You know, I was just looking at a baby catalog (One Step Ahead, maybe?) that has a cover for your doorbell with a little sliding door. When baby is napping, you slide it to hide the doorbell and there's a message to knock quietly. Not a bad idea.
Of course, that probably wouldn't stop Vida from freaking out. Sigh.
Ugh, that sucks!!! Maybe you can post a sign on your door that says, "Ring doorbell at your own risk... if baby wakes up you better hope I don't catch you!"
