Work is less busy and stressful, and my eyes are much better. This is all good. I'm a bit tired today, and it unfortunately caused me to make a few mistakes, but they'll be easy to fix tomorrow ( Read more... )

I shall! I went to the one last year and it was lots of fun. This year they're supposed to be previewing FF14 music in addition to having "new" classic FF songs.

It'll be an interesting contrast. Last year was at the local symphony hall, so I got all dressed up. This year, it's an an outdoor pavillion, so I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt. ;p

I actually really enjoyed the ending to Scott Pilgrim, and it made books 4 and 5 look better in retrospect, somehow. But I haven't reread them yet, so it's hard to say for sure. Looking forward to getting to do that at some point, though.

We actually read the first five on loan from one of Greg's friends, so at some point we'll probably get our own copies and I'll do a massive reread, although not that much time passed between reading 1-5 and reading 6 for me. Still, they are worth having, I think.

Upon looking back, I agree 5 probably was the weakest of all the books. The twins didn't really get that much development (hello, obvious Street Fighter reference!) and there seemed to be a lot of treading water. But the last book wrapped things up very nicely.
