I went back today with fengirl88 to hear some of the final performances. This time it was the Manchester Chamber Choir, whose conductor moved around the room rather than sticking to a single point (though he stood still while conducting!), which made it seem more fluid. He also took us by surprise by starting when we didn't expect it, though eventually I realised that the secret signal to the singers was that he touched his ear with the tuning fork he used to conduct.
