I am still dreadfully behind with everything, and have not yet posted a proper entry commemorating my grandfather's 157th birthday on May 7. I have access (via my university) to the Guardian fulltext backfile from 1821 onwards and that has a lot of book and theatre reviews by "A N M" in it, so it's worth seeing if either Manchester Central Library or Manchester University Library also has such access: the database is ProQuest Historical Newspapers. If so you could go along and browse a selection. I couldn't find the specific quote you mentioned, but there are several reviews of Macbeth by him in the database.
