Beware of the sea

So it seems to be National Poetry Day again, and I gather the theme this year is water. As once before, I thought about Auden's In Praise of Limestone, which describes the water shaping the limestone landscape. But it still doesn't seem quite the right moment. And Tolkien was in my mind, after steepholm directed me to a Radio Four programme on Tolkien

This poem is a small drama itself...very pessimistic though...
