I thought that Timothy Spall was very good. I liked Jack Farthing too. I understand that they are constructing the episodes by shoe-horning together bits from several different books. That may explain why there was one major loose end in last night's episode that I'm sure PG Wodehouse would never have left dangling, namely that no reason was given why Connie should remove her objection to whatsisname courting Angela. He might have got himself into Lord Emsworth's good books, but that wouldn't cut much ice with Connie

I wish Sarah Taylor good fortune. I think she could do very well in the Seconds, and if she is given a chance for the first XI it will be fascinating to see how she gets on.
