I'm glad to hear that Tabitha is doing well, and congratulations on the letter and on Lancashire's win.

very glad to hear that Tabitha's check-up went well and that she's continuing to gain weight. that sounds like a very good day, despite the AV referendum.

That's exciting - what issue of The Guardian?

(I had a letter published in Time magazine when I was in high school, ca. 1999. I think it's archived online somewhere. Ah, memories.)

Today's. I've had a few in there over the years (and one or two in The Times); I remember at least two about Blake's Seven got in, which made me suspect that the Letters Editor was a fan!

Possibly like my mother's adoption of Arsenal when she was a girl - no connection with London, but she wanted a different team from her brother's and liked the sound of the name.

I'm very glad that the signs for Tabitha are good so far. I hope that things continue this well.

Hurrah for your letter in The Guardian!

I gather that Cambridge voted sensibly in the referendum, but that counts for little in the general disappointment.

Manchester managed a respectable 44% for Yes, but overall the North West was only 30%.

Oxford also seems to have voted Yes.

I'm disappointed by the result, but not, I suppose, surprised. I just hope that it won't be another generation before it's raised again...
