Cardamom.

(I have no idea what spice drops are, but really, cardamom sweets would be lovely.)

Oh, yes they would. I actually bought some cardomom a few years ago when I was experimenting with various spice/herb blends, and it smells wonderful. I mixed it with (yes) majoram and lavender because hey, they were in a poem together! It worked with parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme! I've yet to find a use for my "Errantry" blend, alas.

put your Errantry blend into scones.

My sister suggested bread...I may have to try scones. That sounds good.

Um, orange... peels? You know, when you grate them up. Zest?

Hm, I think you might be right.

Maybe orange peel/zest...definitely not orange, though, unless you get the Brach's kind. But the Brach's kind has cherry and lemon and grape instead of cinnamon and ginger and anise. So they don't count as real spice drops.

If they're Pan Ferrara I believe Orange is orange, but Hickory Farms orange is Anise.

Huh. The ones I always get are the generic store-brand ones, and the orange ones taste like maybe orange zest, but there's not really a fruit flavor going on.

I am not familiar with spice drops. Now I want some. They sound marvelous.

I have been told on multiple occasions that I'm weird for eating what basically amounts to toothpaste-flavored gumdrops. But I think they're fantastic. *grin*

I am troubled, however. I found Brachs ones listed and they mention all these berry and cherry flavors. I do not like berry flavors. I want wintergreen and anise and cinnamon, not cherry and various other erries.

Yeah, the Brachs ones are...not the same. The generic store-brand ones at my grocery store have the proper flavors.

Sweet's assorted flavored spice drops come in 7 old-fashioned flavors: black licorice, cinnamon, clove, peppermint, wintergreen, orange, and pimenta.

Huh, it might be clove. A bad approximation of it, but this is cheap generic candy. I have no idea what pimenta tastes like, so it could just as easily be that. *laughs*
