The first week back on my regular schedule of weeknight extracurricular activity always passes with surprisingly little pain. Last week was no exception, and I allowed myself a degree of smugness over the fact that I'd finally laid in enough core muscle that starting up again with fencing and dancing after several weeks away didn't hurt nearly so ( Read more... )

I know your pain. Overdid the lunging exercises a couple of days ago, but it wasn't until this morning that it finally caught up with me. Now I have people giving way for me because they believe I am handicapped.

I can't bend my knees.

Stairs are an impossibility at the moment.

Yoga may be my only salvation.

Yeah, for most of the first year I was fencing, I lived in an apartment that was at the top of four flights of stairs, with no elevators. Getting up there after practicing my lunges and redoublements for a few hours was...interesting.
