Audience participation time!

I know we've done this before, but it's a good one, so here it is again:

Give me some words and/or phrases that you think should be in more common use for whatever reason.

Mine - aplomb, harridan, skulduggery (heh), and "very like a whale"

In other news: two weeks off from fencing + lots of no-parry drills = ow

words are delicious, fl love

I love to say "arugula"! This word is funny just by virtue of how fun it is to fit your tongue around!

Keister, canon, betwixt, Zounds!, pulchritude (I actually spelled this *right* when I saw Akeela and the Bee :-D), reciprocity, annunciate, rambunctious, sonorous.

Scallywag, pompous, asinine, insipid, vulcanize and tardis.

"quoth" is good too...

I love using "quoth" but it's difficult to pull off without sounding pompous and asinine...heh.

"Insipid" doesn't get nearly enough use these days.

These are politically incorrect, of course, but I've always been fond of negress and jewess.

Actually, when I converted to Judaism, my rabbi began the meeting of the beit din by saying, "Moselle wishes to become a Jewess." ^-^ But I admit, I've never seen anyone other than rabbis use the word since 1950.

Well, there was that Saturday Night Live skit in the 70s about "Jewess Jeans"...
