Going pretty well. I think I aced my midterms. Yeah, I have a little better idea about the topic than I had before. I'm going to do sectionalism between the different regions of Alabama, and pick several prominent leaders from the period of 1820-1860 and compare their stances on several major issues. Probably William Lowndes Yancey (it's hard to get away from him), Nicholas Davis (a prominent Whig from Limestone County), Clement Comer Clay, and possibly throw in Jeremiah Clemens... I haven't decided yet. I was thinking I wanted to do at least a Union Democrat, a States Rights Democrat, and a Whig. I'm planning to go to Montgomery for a few days this week to research at the state archives.
