This week has gone fast. Still seems like it has been ages since I arrived though. The weeks are so fast that I should have been able to fit in three per week! But I digress.

Anyway: bought myself book 9 and 10 of A Series of Unfortunate Events yesterday. I should probably reread the others before I move on, but my books are all at home. I'll have ( Read more... )

Why did it take so long for people to solve B? It looks to me to be the easist problem of the set.

Do those problems end up on uva?

I guess when no one got B quickly, everyone thought it was hard. If the top people had solved it quickly, I imagine everyone else would have followed. Anyway, it certainly wasn't the easiest problem for me. It took several minutes of pondering before I realized how to do it. I think we expected it to fool people a bit, but not to such a large extent.

Just two. The ECNA region doesn't allow more than that. I guess they don't want Waterloo to take all of the top spots.
