Haha, I feel so overwhelmed. But we're ONE WHOLE WEEK INTO SEPTEMBER so let me do a quick August recap!
My local racetrack does Bike Nights sometimes, where you can turn laps on your bicycle on the track. (It's a road course, so there's Esses and elevation changes and the ranking isn't as bicycle-unfriendly as an oval track might be, haha.) I went

I'm definitely in that state of "dear god why is everything so complicated and why does it all require so much I just wanna ride my bike and look at the cow hill" so I'm glad at the very least the bike and the cowhill and doing what they ought to in this world, ahaha. <3

Ahh, that all sounds amazing. And I know you're not a famous person loving type, but how fun to meet someone cool like that and have genuine interactions. <3
LOL, kalliel is a climber! Congrats on your victory! Have you watched Yowamushi Pedal yet? It's maybe my favorite sports anime, tied with Haikyuu, though only the first two seasons. One of the latter seasons is almost literally, episode by episode, the exact same story as the awesome, climactic Season 2, just weaker and with a *few* different characters. But the earlier seasons are amazing, and revolve around the main character's reasons for loving bicycling before he gets drafted into the racing club, and his discovery of his identity and importance as a great climber, and your story made me think of it. :-D
I feel you on the people-y-ness and the need to just... not. I'm actually really pleased with some of the new connections I've made in Oregon, but sometimes I find myself pulling back or feeling cynical because I'm waiting for the emotional baggage you spoke of, and the ( ... )

I am DEFINITELY not a climber, fuuuuckkkk inclines, ahaha, but maybe one day I'll get over my hatred of them. Given where I live, this would improve my life a lot. XDDD We did see Yowamushi Pedal (as well as the live action TV series and one of the stage plays)!! I really enjoyed it, though as the focus mysteriously shifted toward Hakone I did not appreciate that as much, haha. The series seemed to think some of those guys were more interesting than the Sohoku guys but I do not agree. It's a truth of all sports anime that the guys involved are completely obsessed with their sport, but I'd argue that the bicycle guys are the most obsessed with their sport, even relative to other sports anime kids. But I guess if you own a $12,000 bicycle you damn better be, ahaha. Naruko was my top fave. I loved Makishima, too, but I was also kind of obsessed with Midousuji. But I also liked Imaizumi and Toudou (and it's hard not to enjoy Onoda).
<33333 to you as well!!!!

Cycling on the track sounds like so much fun, but what a wonderful surprise to have an actual Nascar driver come and join you! What a bonus!
As for people - yeah. The world feels like way too much people being the worst or weirdest people can be at the moment, and really you are so valid now wanting that encroaching on your daily life in any form. Introverts Unite! (But don't get too close).
