I flew out to Boston for my sister's DPT graduation last weekend. And since it was just after my birthday, I got a lobster roll for my birthday. The first lobster roll of my life!
And somehow I just knew that the lobster roll was something to do with SPN, lol. Can't imagine what tipped me off... For real, though, glad you got to have that experience! Fandom just makes that kind of thing hit different.
Honestly, how do "normal" people make it through their lives, without endlessly associating innocuous objects and experiences with their various fandoms and blorbos just to give them that extra little dazzle??
Granted, I don't think I'd get a lobster roll from a place called "Krispy's Diner"... But given that they had kale salad on the menu at all, I guess that perhaps suggests the lobster was not just sitting in a bin out back in the sun, LOL.
I do prefer sandwiches with vegetables included, vs. just lobster in bread, but... I also prefer my sandwiches WITH BREAD. I get that Sam was going to put the lobster on his salad and make it a lobster salad, but A LOBSTER ROLL WITHOUT THE ROLL IS NOT A LOBSTER ROLL SAM
You are braver than I, as I would never have tried the lobster roll, no matter how much someone might have encouraged me. I am anti-everything that goes out of the sea or waters.
But then again, there is always something to say "For the Experience" of it.
I like a lot of types of seafood (sushi, most fish, shrimp, eel), am ambivalent about crab and lobster, and do not like scallops, oysters, mussels, or octopus/squid. Though I will fully admit there was one piece of lobster that was too flappy to my gag reflex to accept, lol. I guess all the better for me, because I am also not a big steak fan, so I can save some money in a lifetime of never really wanting surf and turf! XDD
