It was very good!! I think I need to add more cheese, because I really want that gooeyness vs. like, a pureed soup consistency, but I shredded some more to add with my next serving! I used this recipe (er, more or less! It was not an exact science by any means).
They diddddddd!!!!!!! Ugh, it's so good. <333 I bought The Only Good Indian as a belated birthday present to myself this summer but then never got a chance to read it because I had to read stuff I was teaching, haha. But I'm planning to for Thanksgiving! I had a mind to start it today to help direct my feelings elsewhere, but I thought maybe it would just make me think about SPN too much lol. (I'm glad the anime we're watching right now is about young twenty-somethings trying to Make It Big in Tokyo, which is a sufficiently different vibe from SPN that it's A+ buffer material.)
Your Mac 'n Cheese sounds interesting. I'm a fairly traditional person. I like my Mac n Cheese just that. I like the cheese combination though. Gouda and Gruyere. Both fairly mild cheeses.
I added more cheese to my second helping, and I think I got it about perfect--SO good. They're mild cheese but both were apple-smoked, so the dish tasted very smoky in the best ways (and the smell! mmm). Then I thought about Dean and was like OOF, if I made this dish for Sam maybe the smoke was a bad move. D:
But then, sometimes you need to stay with the moment, right, Sam? You want to stay as long as you can. <3
There is no HAAAALP! We are all doomed to be reminded of our boys whenever we eat mac n cheese (yours sounds absolutely delicious!) and or any pie or pudding, and when certain songs play on the radio. It mocked me on Friday\by playing Eye of the Tiger, Shake it Off and Can't Fight this Feeling one after the other! *hugs*
