I've never heard Werewolves of London so many times in one day.

Tonight, Detroit radio was playing Halloween-themed songs. I wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean, exactly, but apparently it basically just meant playing Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" multiple times. "Abracadabra" by Steve Miller Band. "Twilight Zone" by Gold Earring. And Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky," which I think is kind ( Read more... )

spnfiltration, unapologetic hit-and-run, fandom: spn, strange tales from the midwestern front, mistaking reality for spn again, it happens in detroit

What, no "Monster Mash," "Purple People Eater," and "The Thing"? Forsooth! Well, maybe they'll play those tomorrow. All the same, YES to "Wayward Son"!

(*poke* Hey, you! Been wondering how you are. :) )

I suppose they must have been limited to "songs we have permission to play normally," hence rather tepid attempts at Halloween songs. I mean, "Spirits in the Sky"? Really??? But hey, whatever pushes them toward lowkey SPN refs, ahahaha.

And hello! <333 I have been buried! One day soon I will return to the land of the living.

I mean, there's no other real explanation, right?? Otherwise there's no reason that would b be considered even remotely a Halloween song???

And booooo. :( I agree--Detroit radio is pretty good. When I was driving home from Kansas this summer, the radio just kept getting progressively better and better, and it was very reassuring. XD

I'm guessing someone at the station is a huge SPN fan but they can't very well give a show an actual shoutout while on the air because free publicity is for the birds. so this is their way of celebrating 12 seasons of spook on the spookiest day of the year! the only acceptable explanation.
