The original piece for this challenge~ Rowena and her encounters with various darknesses--some incursion, others obliteration, and still others--strength. (Flay her skin and there is muscle yet beneath.)
This one is based on a scene from the fic. A portrait of a youthful Rowena, watching her first witch-burning. I liked that the hair framing her face almost seems like a light source in itself. And I tried to get the flames reflected in her eyes.
