Gah. So many fantastic lines in here -- I want to quote back the bits I like best, but that's pretty much all of it. This is a fantastic way of getting at the things Dean can't understand about/admit to himself. ♥

It was a really useful to sort of ease myself into Dean's headspace, given his tendency for that headspace to not... articulate most of what's inside it. XD I'm so glad you liked the result! Thank you for reading. <33

I don't know why I sometimes feel compelled to tell you the circumstances under which I read your fic, but this matters, because I'm home from work for whatever reason and that means Supernatural reruns on TNT (even though I own the uncut, no commercials versions, because for some reason watching them when they're broadcast is extra special), and Faith is on, which is my favorite ep of S1 and one of my top 10 (maybe top 5) for the entire series, and I'm idly going through my friends feed during the commercials and oh, hell, look, new fic from Kalliel, and I immediately pause the show because this, THIS REQUIRES MY FULL ATTENTION, and it was definitely a good use of said attention, because damn, girl, this is amazing, and like anactoria said, I want to quote my favorite bits but that would be THE WHOLE DAMN THING and this comment is already long enough, so, just know that reading this fic is BETTER THAN WATCHING REAL ACTUAL WINCHESTERS IN ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES, and yes, I know they are not really real actual Winchesters but I ( ... )

I love knowing the circumstances! It makes the act of reading seem like a real thing, rather than this kind of disembodied experience involving words in a void. :D And haha, I totally feel you about watching them wherever they're playing. I don't have TV, so I can't watch the TNT versions, but when I go to watch an episode, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PERFECTLY GOOD COPIES OF THE EPISODES, I'll go to Netflix and watch its versions (except for S1, for the sake of the children music). It makes me feel like I'm offering support or something, idek. XD It's kind of like DLing the episode, and then going to watch it on the CW website, even though it plays the same commercial about some horrible show literally no one is watching for every damn commercial break.

And awww, haha. I'm pretty sure 1x12 is still way more important than any of my fic, but I'm nevertheless tickled that it rates!! <333333333

Thank YOU for the reading anecdote, and for, of course, the reading. <333

Lovely. Such a raw, hurty look at Dean's S9 headspace. I particularly liked: "You medicate. You deliberate. And if you're not entirely in control, you never take your hands off the wheel..." and; "Like a man taking his car over the edge of a cliff you are not in control but you know exactly what you're doing." Oh Dean.

Thank you! When I wrote this, I hadn't done anything Dean for a while, so I wanted to use it to get back into all that S9 richness. I'm glad that this worked for you!

Oh Dean, indeed. D; <333
