this is absolutely gorgeous, formal missteps be damned. i am forever in awe of how you write dialogue, how natural and in-media-res it sounds, and i am forever in awe of your descriptions of the world around these people. "The sun smacks off the rooftops of the cars and makes them into waddling, iridescent beetles"--I MEAN!!

I have a lot of deep thoughts about sitting in traffic, what can I say! Though traffic on that part of that particular highway is extremely unlikely; but I assume that would not be the case in light of unspecified supernatural disturbance. XD

Anyway, I'm really happy you enjoyed this. The nature of the dialogue especially, since it bears most of the burden of this fic. Dialogue still feels new-to-me, in the sense that I didn't do much of it pre-SPN, but SPN is assuredly a delightful playground for it!

As I read, I was visually seeing an episode of the show and it felt real. And as the show can be, disjointed, giving clues for where it is going.
